2024 PTA Reflections

2023-2024 PTA Reflections

The Reflections program was founded in 1969 and has had millions of students in the U.S. participating in this program, since that time. The overwhelming goal of this program is to have participation and appreciation for the numerous mediums of the arts.

Developmentally, art helps students with gross and fine motor skills, language, and social skills, as well as decision making. This PTA program is an important part of bringing every student’s goals, enthusiasm, and determination into fruition.

Several mediums of art are accepted: literature, music composition, photography, visual arts, dance choreography, and film production. The theme this year is: “I am hopeful because….”

Work is organized by grade: Primary: prek – grade 2, Intermediate: grades 3-5, Middle school: grades 6-8, High school: grades 9-12. This year, there were 99 Dearborn student submissions and an amazing 21 submissions that moved on to the State level competition. State level submissions are still in the process of being judged but the national level contenders will come out, soon.

Thank you to Farah Mackie - VP Dearborn PTA Council - for spearheading the Reflections program and supporting all our DPS student applicants. Thank you - Miller Elementary - for hosting Friday, March 1st - especially, Ms. Amal Abdulla and Ms. Amal Chehab.

Lindbergh’s very own - Maya Elzein - was honored on March 1st for making state level achievement with her Intermediate category level art labeled, “Sunshine”. This is an astonishing achievement and we’re so happy to celebrate her and her gorgeous art. Thank you to our Lindbergh staff for supporting Maya and all our students in their artistic pursuits!
